Before you start

⚠️ Connect your iPod via USB. When macOS asks to Sync — dismiss it. Do NOT click Sync or it will erase your music.

ℹ️ Music is in a hidden folder on your iPod. In the Finder folder picker, press Cmd + Shift + . to reveal hidden folders, then navigate to iPod_Control → Music.

Requires Chrome or Edge — not Safari.

Script source path — your iPod volume name as it appears in Finder:

ℹ️ Point to the folder containing your copied iPod music files — the one full of scrambled filenames like ABCD.mp3. Metadata is read from inside each file.

How it works

① Select the folder containing your scrambled iPod music files

② Metadata (artist, album, title) is read from inside each file

③ A shell script is generated — run it with bash ipod_rescue.sh

④ Your music lands in ~/Music/iPod_Rescue / Artist / Album / Track
